For those who still didn't hear about our most recent project, Code Z is our new series about the Zombie world. The three of us have the role of Zombie hunters, but Code Z for us is way more than that. We've been creating it since the beginning and we can't wait to have the final result for all of you to see. It's been a great moment for us every time we work. Creating and writing the script idea, giving the characters their own personalities, creating the scenarios for the shooting, thinking of the wardrobe and creating the clothes for our characters, giving it a world and its own life. In other words, even though it sounds like a lot of work, it has been a lot of fun producing it in every possible way. It's very exciting!

And what do we want to accomplish with Code Z? Well, we hope to be able to bring all of you to an altered reality… to a new world that you can discover through our series.

For more info, you can follow us on http://www.twitter.com/codeztheseries and http://www.codeztheseries.com

As many of you already know, we are Brazilians and our native language is Portuguese. Even though the majority of Latin people speak Spanish, we are very proud to make part of this huge family. We love everything about it: the food, the music, the language, etc. We are now learning to speak Spanish and doing quite well with it since it's very similar to Portuguese. :-)

About a month ago we went to the Alma Awards, which is a Latin event that gives out awards for all the best artists and athletes from all different genres in the entertainment business (television, movies, and music) and sports. Even though we already love the USA, we really felt at home at the Alma Awards. :-) It was a beautiful ceremony. We were happy to walk the red carpet with a lot of great Latin icons: Shakira, Eva Longoria, Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, George Lopez, Nelly Furtado, Christina Aguilera, David Archuleta… who represents our culture so well.
Take a look at the links bellow:

It was a night of fun. Then we headed to the after party. We briefly passed through the Chateau Marmont party and then went to the party at Shin Korean Barbecue where we had a lot of fun as well.

So, tell us what is your favorite thing about Latin culture?

LET'S TALK SPORTS

First of all...We enjoy sports a lot. Our passion for sports probably came from our parents and since we were young we always trained in different sports. During our youth our father was a pro in soccer in Brazil. So we were ALWAYS around the sports world and loved watching him compete! Today he plays a different sport called futvolei. Futvolei is a mix between soccer and beach volleyball. The sport is played on a beach volleyball field and you can use anything to get the ball over the net except your hands. For a long time our father was one of the top players in the world. Today he is still the third best player in his age range worldwide. We know Futvolei is still not that popular here in the U.S., but we wish that one day it will be recognized as a popular sport. Just like soccer is now. And maybe one day be part of the Olympics.

Speaking of soccer.

The three of us are so excited to know that Marta, a Brazilian player, is changing the female soccer world. She is considered to be the best female player in the world. Marta currently plays for the Los Angeles Sol in the Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) league. The season started just last month and we are very happy to welcome Marta to LA even though we are also new here in town. One of our wishes this year is to go see Marta play live and congratulate her in person.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_8B3cwVZJI

Check out our recent photoshoot above which was done as a tribute to Brazilian female soccer and sports in general!!!

P.S.: We wish Brazil luck for the final game against the U.S. for the championship. We'll definitely be watching!

They were a huge part of our childhood growing up. The first system our parents got us was the Sega Master System. Our favorite game on Sega was a game called Turma da Monica (which was a brazilian version of Wonderboy in Monsterland). We also really enjoyed playing Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Sonic the Hedgehog and Mortal Kombat.

On NES, our favorite games were Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong and Ninja Gaiden.

Later on in our childhood, computer games took over most of our playing hours. We just couldn't stop playing with our Grandma (Yes, our grandma use to have as much fun playing computer games with us, as we did! And believe it or not, she plays AMAZINGLY!)
Prince of Persia was one of the first computer games we played. It was a favorite of ours, along with Wolfenstein 3D, Duke Nukem 3D, Phantasmagoria, and Alone in the Dark. We also played much lighter games like The Jungle Book - Mowgli and Freddi Fish (LOL).

When Resident Evil was launched on the playstation, it quickly became our favorite game to play! We were SO INTO this game, that when the subway boss suddenly appears towards the end, it scared us so much that we accidentely yanked our system off the shelf with the controler and our memory card broke in half. Literally! So guess what? We had to start the game all over again. And then, we were able to finally clear it.

Today we can still play many of these same games on our new Nintendo Wii. It definitely brings back great memories.

On the Wii, we are currently playing Zelda Twilight Princess, Bomberman Blast, and just bought Punch Out.
We also have two Ninento DS(s) just in case someone is hogging the Wii. Our favorite games for the DS are Final Fantasy, Zelda again, Assassins Creed, Tomb Raider, Animaniacs, Castlevania, Hotel Dusk, Iron Man, Madagascar , Ninja Gaiden, Rayman, Resident Evil, Simpsons, Sonic, Star Wars, Super Mario 64, The Incredble Hulk, Spider Man, The Mummy, Splinter Cell, The World Ends With You, Sonic and Golden Eye. We know thats a lot of games.

We wished we could have been there!
The carnival is SO loved in the entire world for its AMAZING and overflowing positive energy. Full of colors, dance and music (samba), the celebration passes through the Avenue of Sambodromo (where the Rio de Janeiro Carnival - the biggest - happens). No words can explain it! It reunites millions of people from all around the planet. It's one of our dreams to be a main part of this event one day!
The Carnival is so big in Brazil, that during the 4 days (or more) it takes place, it's very common that people skip work. Even though Carnival is not considered a National Holiday, many bosses give these days off to their employees. ( And probably to themselves as well :-). ) Now you wish you were brazilian, huh? Lol...
CARNAVAL! This word brings us so many different feelings because the carnival it's not just for the party and fun. Actually, there are many Schools of Carnival (over 20 of them. We don't know the exact number) that compete between them every year. Each school is responsible for performing a small play that is filmed and aired live on the huge worldwide brazilian channel: GLOBO. There are judges who pick which school has the best song, the best costumes, design, scenario, theme and a lot more. The most famous Carnival's spectacles are those from Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. These schools, also generate a lot of jobs for people in the favelas (poor brazilian neighborhoods) giving them earnings for their families and themselves. So they can work for the Carnival the entire year, and in the end, be able to celebrate this giant and wonderful event: the Carnival!
So have anyone experienced the Carnival in Brasil already? And How was it?
If you didn't go, don't worry.
